      Description

This month’s topic is "Managing tantrums / Intense Emotions – for ourselves as parents and in our children". Our speaker is Marion Doherty, Clinical Psychologist, Co-ordinator of Kari Centre Infant Mental Health Service and ECLIPS.

Parents bringing up children/young people with Autism and/or any disability are often under a lot of stress, and find it hard to manage behavioural issues and tantrums.

This month we have invited Marion to speak about understanding and de-escalating tantrums, including strategies to help parents cope with when faced with such stressful situations. Marion takes a hands-on approach to delivering her presentations and parents will really enjoy her session full of sensible and practical ideas that have been proven to work.

      Programme for the day:

5:30pm Registrations open and networking (refreshments and vegetarian supper provided)

      6:00pm Presentation: Managing Tantrums

8:00pm Finish At Disability Connect we work inclusively and cross-culturally with an ethnically diverse community.

Please come along if this topic is of interest to you. Children are welcome but must be supervised by parents.
