Here’s a brief update on matters about pay equity for care and support workers, claim 3.
MEPEPA
We are close to confirming the MEPEPA, with only a few more employers to be contacted. All going well, we will be able to finalise the document at our meeting next week.
Informing employees
Once the MEPEPA is confirmed, employers are then required to inform their care and support worker employees of the claim, and give them 20 working days to opt out. We will be sending more information about that in the next few weeks.
Steering group
We will be establishing a steering group to progress the claim. Any employer can be on the steering group and can join or leave the group at any time. If you would like to be part of the steering group, please let me know by return email. Once we have a core group, you’ll be able to choose a chair.
