International Day of People with Disabilities is recognised every year on 3 December.
2024’s theme is “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future”.
In keeping with the theme, NZDSN supports GLE’s work to spotlight the leadership of people with disabilities, innovative ways the voices of people with disabilities are being included in decision making, and initiatives which ensure they can be full members of their communities.
The questions we have for our members include:
- Do you prioritise seeking disabled people to fill staff vacancies?
- Do you consider appointing a disabled person to your Board and supporting the growth of governance capability across our sector?
Let us know how you support leadership opportunities for disabled people, and the benefits for your organisation in the comments.
